THEORY OF CHANGE
Bold Futures leads policy change, research, place-based organizing, and culture shift by and for women and people of color in New Mexico.
Through our policy efforts, Bold Futures positions New Mexican women and people of color in decision-making spaces, ensuring our families and communities are considered when it matters most. We lead our own strategic policy efforts through the New Mexico legislative process, administrative rule change, and more.
At Bold Futures, we trust that New Mexicans are the experts of their own lives. We lead research that respects the communities we come from, and works to capture and document what New Mexicans know and believe about our state’s pressing issues. We lead our own qualitative and quantitative research, often with collaborative partners in advocacy and academia.
We meet New Mexicans where they are at; Bold Futures sees the strength and resiliency in our people. For us, organizing is about creating space for those impacted by an issue to speak to each other and for themselves.
For Bold Futures, culture shift means we create art, media, and messages to shape narratives that matter. Through our in-house Art & Organizing Institutes we collaborate with New Mexico-based artists to change hearts and minds, and spark dialog about what our families need to thrive.
